NEA CommUnity resource Center

The NEA CommUNITY Resource Center focuses on reducing overdose and stigma associated with treatment and recovery for those with substance misuse disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. This work is achieved by enhancing community capacity to develop local solutions to local problems.

To help community organizations build capacity, we offer a variety of training opportunities ranging from coalition building to understanding substance use disorders to grant writing. We also help to build local capacity through providing Narcan/Naloxone for responding to opioid overdose situations, Deterra for drug disposal, and fentanyl test strips to test street drugs for the presence of fentanyl, a pervasive, highly addictive, and deadly drug often present in other drugs. 

We offer a variety of educational programs for students, teachers, faith communities, law enforcement, and other community members. Our programs include workshops and seminars to promote awareness and knowledge critical for community response to substance misuse.

We believe that collaboration is key to achieving our mission. We work closely with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies to promote local engagement and sustainability of local efforts to address substance misuse and overdose.
